1795 ANACS 20 Robert Scot's flowing design is the first ever to appear on a United States Half Dollar, and was utilized only in 1794 and 1795. Authorized by the Act of April 2, 1792, the United States Half Dollar was first struck in 1794. The initial series lasted for just two years, with the first-year 1794 being produced to the extent of just 23,464 pieces. Since its original mintage is a more generous 299,680 pieces, the 1795 is the issue of choice among type collectors who desire a representative of Robert Scot's Flowing Hair design in the Half Dollar format.
