1799 ANACS 50 Au Details Cleaned Ex-Jewelry While far from the rarest date in the Capped Bust Right Eagle series of 1795-1804, the 1799 is anything but common in an absolute sense, either. As with all early U.S. gold, the 1799 with a mintage of 37,449 coins, has an extremely low survivability rate. Furthermore, those coins which are extant, are under extreme type collector pressure as representatives of the Large (or Heraldic) Eagle variant of our nation's first Ten-Dollar gold design. This Capped Bust Right Eagle would fit very nicely into a gold type set alongside other coins of Choice AU (or even BU) quality.
