This is America's first dime date. Only 22,135 coins were minted for this date. This is an important first year type and the beginning date of the Dime denomination.
1844 ANACS 15 There were 72,500 coins minted for this date. The 1844 Seated Liberty Dime is pretty much the second rarest Philadelphia issue Dime from this decade. It trails only the 1846 and is closely tied for second rarest with the 1847, which has less graded in total but is also much more available in Mint State than the 1844.

1942/1D ANACS 58 Nearly mint. Pleasing surfaces. Lightly toned. Similar to the Philadelphia variety, this coin was the result of a die first hubbed with a 1941 dated hub, with subsequent hubbings from a 1942 dated hub. Doubling is evident on the designer's initials and IN GOD WE TRUST. Doubling is evident also on the 1, 9 and 4 of the date, with the tail of the 4 doubled to the left. The 1 is only partially visible within the left portion and slightly below the 2.
